The Lesser Evil

Wraith was dizzy in pain from being thrown, something unusual for it. It felt Aramis pulling it away from the grenade. Maybe he was a better kid than it thought. The dizziness wore off quickly, and it got up on its two feet and began getting away itself.

Meanwhile, in the plane, the Acolyte pilot was just coming to, his vision fuzzy due to a nasty head wound. He stumbled out of the plane, collapsing on the ground. Just in time to see the grenade go off.

Camille opened her coyote eyes and found some of her blood running down her snout. Fighting the animal urge to try and lick it she ran out of the plane. She caught sight of Lanius and thought it best to go after him. Silently, which was hard when a granade had just gone off, she fallowed Lanius and his sidekick.

Sam just smiled. "You two just kill anyone who looks like they didn't hear me, I got the rest." Even though he was pretty sure the door was locked, Sam tried it and what do yea know? Locked. So he just kicked it down, "Cover your ears if you don't want to kill yourself!" He said to the others then he started Charmspeaking, "Hey! If you can hear me, just go nuts on each other and burn the place down!" He was sure that would start a riot.

Lanius and Vulpes ran for a while, and had no idea that Camille was following them.
As they made it back to the village they had played lottery in, they stopped and went into one of the houses and locked the door.

Camille couldn't help but gasp as she saw the mutilated town.
heads were hanging from poles, people were nailed to crosses, blood was almost everywhere, and there, in the midst of the dead, a man was sitting in a chair.
His expression couldn't be more blank.
But he was sitting there, as if the people around him were still alive.
He just sat there.

"Show off." Johanna mumbled stepping in after him and covering her ears.

Aramis tripped forward as the grenade went off, his face slamming on the rough ground. He coughed hearing Luke breath rapidly. "You alright, Luke?" He asked with a muttered.
"Yes, though; I had a feeling that you were going to save me, Oh Mighty Armais."
"Shut up." He mumbled trying to push himself up with his messed up hand. He winced in pain, "Stupid beast." He mumbled.

Yeah, she gasped. It suprised her that a dude just sat there, but her coyote senses made her hungry seeing this place to and that scared her more. So she strolled into the town and looked around. "Halloween is over you know..." She mumbled then licked her chops.

Pan lowered his hands from his ears as Sam stopped talking. He walked to the doorway to see the place literally tearing itself apart. Perfect. Though a few were cowering away from their crazed brethren. He stepped into the building after the other two and, seeing one nearby, plunged his switch blade into the person's heart. He wandered around, completely at ease in the chaos. He knew that these people would be resurrected soon enough anyway.


Wraith was on the ground, breathing. It rose up and looked around. A collapsed Acolyte, a burning tree and a beaten Luke and Aramis. We're missing one... it thought to itself. It walked over to Aramis and, seeing that he was in pain, helped the boy up.

Armais muttered a 'thanks' to Wraith as he got up. Once he was up, his hand was in an odd position now. He gingerly poked it, making him wince. Dammit. He thought glumly; his wrist was messed up; how was he going to fight now?

Pan might have been ok in the chaos, but Sam wasn't as well off. After alll the place was a just filled with homocidal nuts and he didn't have a weapon! That soon changed when he found a guy beating someone else with a gun. "Hey, stop that and give me the gun. Amo to if you would be so kind." The guy looked dazed but handed the gun to Sam and all the amo he had. Heck, he even threw in a holtser. "Good man, now do me a favor and go to that guy with the switch blade and let him end yea quickly." The guy nodded and started walking over to Pan, while Sam tried to shoot anyone who got within seven yards.

Johanna slunk by dead men on the ground and taking their weapons. She smiled placing them in her pocket, These seem good enough for me. she said running off and stabbing one of them directly at the chest; where the heart should be. He fell back as a man was trying to light the place on fire, Johanna's eyes widen a bit. She ran away from the guy afraid of getting burned, she threw people aside with her telekinesis. JOhanna slowed down as she got far away, boy she hated fire. A lot.

A man stepping in front of Pan and did...well, nothing really. Raising an eyebrow at him, he simply killed it with the rest.

One Acolyte, who had averted Sam's speech and was slightly more experienced than his comrades, was trying to escape the chaos with a stack of papers in his hands. These were the enemies. He needed to help fight them. He needed to save these briefing papers. He needed to- Too late, he was the one Johanna stabbed.

Slowly running out of amo and the will to keep his hands raised Sam put the gun into his holster and looked over the party he had started. Pan looked like he was having some fun, and Johanna... Well she looked freaked. Dodging some flying knives and bulleting he went over to her, "You ok? C'mon it's just alittle riot." He told her adding a small smile, "Thought you and Pan would be having a blast."

Johanna shook the frightened expression, "I'm fine." She mumbled looking over her shoulder. "A riot with fire that is. Fire that burns with such pain.." The red head winced looking over her arm, the burn marks were still there. She pulled Sam towards her seeing a knife was thrown at his direction, "Be careful."

Pan walked through the riot, killing as he went, over to Sam and Johanna.
"This should be over soon enough. I really have to say that this is a nice change of pace." he shouted over the screams around them, which were dying down now that the riot was past its climax and more people were dead than alive. Another pair of crazed Acolytes lunged toward them. Pan just waved and backed away.


Wraith looked around, then to Aramis. How to get this across... it strained. It looked at the ground for a second. Then it plunged two fingers into the ground and began drawing something. The end product was a horribly crude drawing of Camille, followed by one word underneath: 'Where'

Sam just looked at Pan, wondering how he could be enjoying that. Dodging the Acolytes he said, "Yeah. Nice." He looked at the mess around them, "So when we heading out?" He took a step forward and stepped on some papers. Picking them up he started to look at them and remebered seeing a guy running with them, "What's all this about?"

Coyote Camille had stopped to chew on a bone in the city of death. Slowly she made her way to the man who sat in the middle of it all. Tail wagging and bone in mouth she approuched him. With a bark she sat in front of him dropping the bone at his feet. She had been in coyote form longer than normal and it showed when in a far from human voice she asked, "Could you throw that for me?"

Pan caught Sam's look.
"To be honest, it beats waiting in old crypts for the undead to rise, and then guiding them to the catacombs." he said.
"I know how to get to every cemetery in a 500 mile radius..." he muttered, then walked over to the papers Sam picked up.
"I am not sure. Guess we just burn them. Seems to be some sort of report. Do what you want with them." he said, shrugging and walking back into the fray.

"Huh, interesting." Johanna mumbled looking over Sam's shoulder to see the papers. "Seems useless, you can just burn...or do something to them." She murmured walking away from him.

Aramis looked at Luke, "Did you see where she went?" He asked, Luke thought for a moment. "I saw her chase after that butt-ugly thing that attacked us." Armais growled, "Why did she do that?" He pulled down the scarf covering half of his face and pulled it off to wrap his wrist. He looked over at Wraith, "We're going to have to go look for her, huh?" He mumbled.

(Where is Mango when ya need him to post?! D: I [pun time] practicly threw him a big post bone!)

"Someone wanted to save them right?" He said tossing them far behind him. "Guess if these guys have to go so do their papers." Sam still wondered about the papers but he guessed that it'd be best just to leave them be.

(*twitchs* Puuuuns....D:)

Wraith frowned inwardly. This thing is not our target...and this thing nearly killed two of us... it thought to itself. After thinking for a while, it nodded at Aramis.


The riot was done now, a few papers were still burning, and the last few men and women were killed. There was only three people left standing in the room, and silence dominated the rest.

Johanna tried her best to ignore the fire that was burning the papers, she looked over at Pan. "So, Now what blade boy?" She asked placing her hands in front of her chest.

Aramis sighed, "Alright, well. We better start walking now then." He mumbled as Luke climbed onto him.

Sam had two hopes now that the whole slatter was over: Leave the place and not get destroyed by Bas if they were going to go see him again. He walked away from the others feeling his semi-shyness return and looked over the gun one of the now dead people had given him. Finding a knife he started to cut some letters into the handle just for kicks.

"Now we finish what we were told to do; return to him and tell him that everything went well." Pan said, already walking out of the building, some of the smaller cuts and bruises on his body healing as he went. Interesting people. Albeit useful. he thought to himself. Whether it was an approving thought or not he wasn't sure.

Johanna tapped Sam's shoulder, "Come on, he's already out the building." And with that the fox faced girl flicked off hair from her face and walked out towards the doors.

"Oh, sorry." Sam said. He quickly slid the gun into it's holster and the knife into a trench coat pocket. "So Pan," Sam had caught up with him and matched his pace, "Any ideas on why we just did that or are red and I not high enough on the food chain to know?"

"I know only what he told me; that they had been following us. I am not entirely sure who they were." Pan said.
"He usually does not say why we do things or who we are doing them too...I think it is his way of testing us." he said with a frown.
"And you two are actually quite closer to him than you think. You would not be here otherwise." Of course, he didn't mention the fact that they were chosen randomly from a list.

"Huh..." Was all Sam could reply. He wasn't sure he liked being close to death himself but the up side was death might be on his side. His amber eyes looked up to the sky as he played with the though of not being on Bas' side.
